Andalas Health Center is the health center with the highest number of cases of diarrhea in children under five in Padang City in 2021, namely 129 cases. If a toddler has diarrhea, the actions taken by the mother determine the course of the disease, one of which is determined by the mother's knowledge and attitude. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal knowledge and attitudes about food management with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the Andalas Puskesmas Working Area, Padang City in 2023. This type of research is quantitative with an analytic approach and cross sectional research design. This research was conducted in March-August 2023. The population in this study were all mothers who had toddlers with a sample size of 96 respondents. The sampling technique used was accidental sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data analysis was performed univariate and bivariate with chi square statistical test. The results showed that 65.6% of toddlers experienced diarrhea, 47.9% of respondents had low knowledge and 44.8% of respondents with negative attitudes about food management. Based on bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between knowledge (p=0.000) and attitude (p=0.022) with the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers. The incidence of diarrhoea in toddlers is influenced by several factors, namely maternal knowledge and attitudes. It is recommended for Andalas Health Center to be able to provide counseling about diarrhoea and conduct socialisation about food management in mothers and for mothers who have toddlers can participate in attending counseling about diarrhoea.</em></p> Isla Munawaroh Zudarmi Zudarmi Fadhilatul Hasnah Copyright (c) 2024 Allied Health of Journal 2024-02-29 2024-02-29 1 1 1 9 Relationship Between Parenting Patterns and Personal Hygiene of Children in Bakti Islam Kindergarten, 50 Sungai Rumbai Timur District, Dharmasraya Regency, 2023 https://ahoj.stikesalifah.ac.id/index.php/ahoj/article/view/338 <p><em>According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2020, it was found that 5-7 million children in the world experienced delays in personal hygiene, around 15%-25% occurred at the age of 4-6 years, personal hygiene problems that occur in preschool children are often found in Sungai Rumbai District is 61.7% or 2,987 people. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between parenting patterns and personal hygiene of children at Bakti Islam Kindergarten 50, Sungai Rumbai Timur District, Dharmasraya Regency in 2023. The research method used is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The research was carried out in March-August 2023, data collection was carried out in 7-22 August 2023. The population in the study was 78 children of the Bakti Islam Kindergarten, while the sampling technique used a total sampling technique of 68 respondents. Data was collected through interviews using a questionnaire and the data was analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi square test. The research results showed that 44.1% had an authoritarian parenting style, and 52.9% had poor personal hygiene. There is a relationship between parenting patterns and personal hygiene in children at Islam Bakti 50 Kindergarten, Sungai Rumbai Timur District, Dharmasraya Regency in 2023 with a p-value of 0.000. Based on research results, there is a relationship between parenting styles and personal hygiene in kindergarten children. It is hoped that the school will provide a learning schedule to practice proper personal hygiene procedures in everyday life</em></p> Puti Zalza Jandra Nabila Copyright (c) 2024 Allied Health of Journal 2024-02-29 2024-02-29 1 1 10 18 Relationship Between Knowledge Level, Food Handlers' Attitude and Food Supervision on The Implementation of Food Hygiene Sanitation in Street Vendors at Purus Beach Padang, 2023 https://ahoj.stikesalifah.ac.id/index.php/ahoj/article/view/134 <p>As many as 55.8% of food processing places in Purus Beach Padang did not meet the requirements in 2021, in 2022 it increased by 61.3%. The study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge, attitudes and food supervision on the application of food sanitation hygiene to street vendors at Purus Beach Padang. The research design was a cross sectional study with a population of all street vendors selling 177 foods, where sampling used simple random sampling technique with a total of 53 people. The research was conducted on June 10-28, 2023 at Purus Beach Padang. Data were collected using a questionnaire with interview and observation methods. Data analysis was univariate and bivariate. The results showed that 69.8% of vendors had an unqualified application of food hygiene sanitation, 64.2% of street vendors had a low level of knowledge, 60.4% of street vendors had a negative attitude and 86.8% of street vendors had poor food supervision. Based on the Chi-square test results, there is a significant relationship between knowledge level (p=0.000), attitude (p=0.000) with the application of food hygiene sanitation, and there is no significant relationship between food supervision and the application of food hygiene sanitation (p=0.179). So it is hoped that the Health Office will provide counseling to street vendors on how to apply good hygiene sanitation when selling and conduct food supervision so that traders can maintain the quality of food to be sold.</p> Wegi Elma Nopriandani Asep Irfan Nailul Hikmi Copyright (c) 2024 Allied Health of Journal 2024-02-29 2024-02-29 1 1 19 24 Implementation of the Occupational Health Effort Standard Operating Procedure Program (Pos UKK) at Alai Health Center in Padang City https://ahoj.stikesalifah.ac.id/index.php/ahoj/article/view/357 <p>Based on the annual report of the Padang City Office in 2021, data on the incidence of sick workers served by Puskesmas in Padang City was 39,299 people. Then cases of common diseases in workers were found as many as 36,086 people, then suspected cases of occupational diseases were obtained as many as 2,161 people. Furthermore, cases of occupational diseases in workers as many as 1,405 people and cases of occupational accidents in workers were found as many as 253 people. The purpose of the Occupational Health Effort (UKK) program at Puskesmas is occupational health services aimed at informal sector workers. Based on the results of the initial survey at the Alai Health Center, there is a UKK program but the guidance is not routine, there are no supporting facilities for the UKK program and the cadres of the UKK Post do not know their duties and functions. The type of research used is qualitative observational with a phenomonological approach. Research informants totaling 4 people were determined by purposive sampling and observing the ukk post at the Alai Health Center in Padang City. This research was carried out from March to August 2023 at the Alai Health Center in Padang City. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, observations and document review. The results of this study show that the policy used by the Alai Health Center is the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. 1758 of 2003 concerning basic occupational health services, the implementer of UKK Post activities does not yet have a functional position of occupational health supervisor. There are no supporting facilities for the UKK Post at the Alai Health Center in Padang City properly. Kilang Lima Gunung Padang in 2023 https://ahoj.stikesalifah.ac.id/index.php/ahoj/article/view/279 <p>In 2021 at PT Kilang Lima Gunung Padang there was a fire caused by 60% electrical short circuit or sparks from the central warehouse cable falling into crates containing 30% rubber material. The fire then spread very quickly. This resulted in a loss of around 5 billion. The impacts that occur when a fire occurs are human, material, environmental, economic, and social. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with employee preparedness efforts in dealing with fires at PT Kilang Lima Gunung Padang in 2023. This type of quantitative research with a cross sectional design, the research time was carried out in March-August 2023. The sample in this study were all production employees totaling 52 people (total population). Data collection using a questionnaire by means of a questionnaire. Based on the results of the study, it shows that 51.9% of employees are not good with fire preparedness efforts, 65.4% of employees have a low level of knowledge, 57.7% of employees have a negative attitude, the availability of infrastructure is not complete (13.5%). There is a relationship between the level of knowledge with preparedness efforts in the face of fire (p = 0.001), attitude (p = 0.006) and there is no relationship between the availability of infrastructure with preparedness efforts in the face of fire (p = 0.422). Preparedness efforts are influenced by several factors, namely the level of knowledge and attitude. It is recommended to the company to conduct simulation training on fire preparedness efforts in the event of a fire employees are ready to face the fire.</p> <p><strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong></p> Rani Selvia Wulandari Nizwardi Azkha Yulia Yulia Copyright (c) 2024 Allied Health of Journal 2024-02-29 2024-02-29 1 1 34 41 Factors Associated with the Implementation of Food Hygiene and Sanitation in Restaurants https://ahoj.stikesalifah.ac.id/index.php/ahoj/article/view/152 <p>The food management facilities in the Pauh Primary Health Care working area were the lowest in food hygiene and sanitation standards in Padang. The aim of this study was to determine the factors associated with the implementation of food hygiene and sanitation in restaurants. This research was of a quantitative study with an analytical approach and a cross-sectional study design. The research population was 230 food handlers. A sample of 87 food handlers was taken using the accidental sampling technique. The research findings showed that 48.3% of food handlers had a poor implementation of food hygiene and sanitation, 49.4% had low levels of knowledge and inadequate sanitation facilities also 70.1% were poorly supervised by sanitation personnel. Based on bivariate analysis, there was a significant relationship between the availability of sanitation facilities (p=0.001) and the supervision of sanitation personnel (p=0.000) with the implementation of food hygiene and sanitation. Additionally, there was no relationship between the level of knowledge and the implementation of food hygiene and sanitation (p=0.589). The implementation of food hygiene and sanitation was influenced by several factors, namely the availability of sanitation facilities and the supervision of sanitation personnel. The incidence of hypertension is related to the lifestyle of the elderly. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at Puskesmas Andalas. This type of research is quantitative with a crosectional study method. This research was conducted in March - August 2023 with a population of all elderly people visiting the Puskesmas Andalas Kota Padang. The sample in this study was 96 elderly people who were taken using accidental sampling technique with the research instrument used was a questionnaire. Analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the chi-square statistical test. The results showed that 51.0% of the elderly had a negative diet, 74.0% of the elderly had light physical activity and 55.2% of the elderly did not have a smoking habit. There is a relationship between diet (p value = 0.031) and physical activity (p value = 0.040) with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly. While smoking habits do not have a significant relationship with the incidence of hypertension in the elderly at Puskesmas Andalas (p value = 0.379). Diet and physical activity affect the incidence of hypertension in the elderly. It is expected that the Puskesmas Andalas needs to carry out health promotion and education to the elderly about the elderly lifestyle, especially diet and physical activity to minimize the incidence of hypertension in the elderly.</p> Michel Hafiq Radian Ilmaskal Wilda Tri Yuliza Copyright (c) 2024 Allied Health of Journal 2024-02-29 2024-02-29 1 1 53 63 Factors Associated with the Incidence of Hypertension in Productive Age (15-64 Years) in Andalas Village, Padang City in 2023 https://ahoj.stikesalifah.ac.id/index.php/ahoj/article/view/314 <p>Non-communicable diseases are quite a big health problem, one of which is hypertension. In 2021, the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia will be 34.1%. In 2022 the city of Padang will occupy 2nd position at 22.4%. Of the 23 health centers in Padang City, hypertension in the productive age group was highest at Andalas Health Center at 30.2%. This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of hypertension in productive age (15-64 years) in Andalas Village in 2023. The research method used is quantitative with a cross sectional study design. The research was conducted in March-August 2023. Data collection was carried out on 25 July-5 August 2023 with a population of all productive ages in Andalas Village of 252 people. A sample of 72 respondents used the simple random sampling method. Data was collected through questionnaires with interviews. Univariate and bivariate data analysis using the Chi-Square test. The research results showed that 58.3% of respondents had hypertension, 73.6% of respondents had no smoking behavior, 58.3% of respondents had light physical activity, and 55.6% of respondents were stressed. The results of statistical tests show that there is a relationship between physical activity (p = 0.015) and stress levels (p = 0.045) with the incidence of hypertension in productive age. Meanwhile, smoking behavior has no significant relationship with the incidence of hypertension in productive age in Andalas Village (p = 0.752). Physical activity and stress levels are among the factors that influence the incidence of hypertension in productive age. It is hoped that the Andalas Community Health Center staff can reduce the number of cases of hypertension by increasing physical activity such as holding gymnastics activities and providing education through counseling to manage stress well.</p> Viola Partisia Afzahul Rahmi Alkafi Alkafi Copyright (c) 2024 Allied Health of Journal 2024-02-29 2024-02-29 1 1 64 75 Factors Associated with the Implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System in the Production Section at PT Abaisiat Raya in 2023 https://ahoj.stikesalifah.ac.id/index.php/ahoj/article/view/364 <p>Companies that implement OHSMS have decreased by 14% where in 2022 there were 2,004 companies that implemented OHSMS, down to 1749 companies in 2023. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the implementation of OHSMS in the production department of PT Abaisiat Raya workers in 2023. This type of research is quantitative with cross sectional study method. This research was conducted in March - August 2023 with a population of 119 workers in the production division of PT Abaisiat Raya. The sample in this study was 92 workers who were taken with a sampling method using simple random sampling technique. The research instrument used was an interview using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that 48.9% of workers assessed the application of OHSMS which was not good, 51.1% of workers had a low level of knowledge, 54.3% of workers assessed that there was no commitment, 52.2% of workers assessed that the work environment did not meet the requirements. There is a relationship between knowledge level (p=0.021), OHS commitment (p=0.035), and work environment (p=0.036) with OHSMS implementation. There is a relationship between the level of knowledge, OHS commitment, and the work environment with the implementation of OHSMS in the production section at PT Abaisiat Raya workers.
